A slew of improvements and balance tweaks are coming to Splatoon, enough that they had to split the updates into parts. The first will adjust gear abilities, matchmaking, and splatfest elements. Some lesser used gear abilities are being improved to “make them more appealing.” Some changes are being made to ranked matchmaking and team assignments online. Let’s hope this will soothe some of the woes many Splatoon players have been having in regards to online matchmaking. This update lands on March 8.

The next update is focused on weapons. Aside from balance tweaks to existing weapons, new weapon set recommendations will be added.
