My Nintendo has launched in Japan

The successor to Club Nitendo, My Nintendo, is now ready to go in Japan. Checking the website outside of Japan will just give you a “coming soon” page.

Like with Club Nintendo, you can earn points to spend on various rewards that are available for a limited time. In Club Nintendo, the bulk of points your were earned by purchasing first-party games and entering the code found on an insert. It is still yet to be seen if My Nintendo will work this way, but what we do know is that points can be earn by completing various “missions”, virtually all of which currently involve Miitomo, Miiverse, and the eShop.

my nintendo missions

There had been some rumors floating around about a Zelda Picross game, and there it is. It looks like it may be exclusive to this program, so who knows what else we can get? Now that Japan has this program launched, like many things, we will be waiting for it to release in the west.
