The season pass for Hyrule Warriors: Legends will be available to pre-purchase from day one, and will give you access to all future DLC. Some of the Legends DLC will be available for Hyrule Warriors on Wii U—which is additionally getting its own brand new content in the future. Pre-purchasing the season pass grants players an exclusive costume for Ganondorf, giving him his look from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
The content in these packs include new characters, weapons, Adventure Mode maps, and supposedly more. We’ll have to wait for more details to see exactly what they have in store.
You are given three choices for The Legends of Hyrule Season Pass. One for the 3DS, one for the Wii U, and one for both—likely at a discount.
Hyrule Warriors: Legends for 3DS gets four packs that are included in the season pass or can be purchased individually.
The first pack, Master Wind Waker Pack, will be available “late spring 2016” and contains:
The second pack, Link’s Awakening Pack, comes in “summer 2016” and contains:
The third, Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks Pack, comes in “autumn 2016” and contains:
And fourth, A Link Between Worlds Pack, comes in “winter 2016” and contains:
And on Wii U, Hyrule Warriors gets three DLC packs.
Link’s Awakening Pack in “summer 2016”:
Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks Pack in “autumn 2016”:
A Link Between Worlds Pack in “winter 2016”:
There’s quite a number of new characters coming; it will be interesting to see who they are. Saria better be one of them, am I right?
Additionally, the new characters that come with Legends: Skull Kid, Toon Link, Linkle, King Daphnes, and Tetra, and the new trident weapon for Ganondorf can be downloaded for Wii U if you buy a new copy of Hyrule Warriors: Legends for 3DS. All new copies of the game will contain a code that you can use on the Wii U eShop to download those characters and weapon for free. It’s looking like these characters will not be available as a separate purchase, so you will have to buy the game for 3DS. Neither Koei Tecmo nor Nintendo have explicitly said whether or not they’ll be available separately, so it’s still technically up in the air. There will be a Legends Character Pack for Wii U, so you can download those characters. This is separate from the season pass and goes for $12.99.
Lastly, Medli will be available to download on both 3DS and Wii U as a playable character for free at the same time the first pack launches this spring. No purchase necessary.
Hyrule Warriors: Legends releases in 2016 on March 24 in Europe and Australia, March 25 in North America, and April 28 in South Korea.
